# User Kill Switch

> User runtime kill switch for their OWN account (§4.5).

engage=True: durably halt new entries (funded.kill_switch_engaged=true, enforced
on every order path, survives restart) AND flatten the account immediately via
Alpaca-direct (cancel all orders + close all positions). engage=False: clear the
halt (no flatten). Engaging requires confirm=true. Operator-initiated kills are
separate (admin route) — this only touches the caller's own account.
